UVA Researchers Secure $8.4 Million to Explore the Functional Organization of Cellular Membranes

Six UVA School of Medicine researchers received an $8.4 million NIH grant to investigate how lipids regulate cellular membrane organization. The team will explore the “functional paralipidome” hypothesis, examining how a protein’s lipid environment influences its function, potentially advancing understanding of disease states and critical aspects of human health and physiology.
